Hugo Sereno Ferreira

Hugo Sereno Ferreira calls himself an old-school “hacker”, since the days of MSX, ZX Spectrum and Commodore Amiga. He his a Ph.D. (All But Dissertation) in Computer Science in the MAP-i Doctoral Programme at the Universities of Minho, Aveiro and Porto, where he’s finishing his thesis on Adaptive Object-Modelling.

He has worked on several industrial and research projects, fulfilling the roles of Lead Software Engineer, Analyst, Architect and Project Manager since 2001. Among those were military projects for NC3A – NATO R&D Agency — where development mainly followed eXtreme Programming practices. He (re-)joined the Faculty of Engineering of University of Porto in 2008 as an Assistant Lecturer, and has been mainly teaching courses on Software Engineering and Formal Methods.

Member of the Hillside Group, his current interests focus on Architectural and Design Patterns, Model-Driven Engineering, Meta-programming and Frameworks.
